Free Kudat health screening
KOTA MARUDU: Residents in several remote areas of Banggi, Kudat and Pitas will receive free health screening services through the 2026 Northern Sabah Tour Free Health Screening Programme, which will run for five days from March 23 to 27.

The programme, organised by the Malaysia Union Mission together with the Northern Sabah Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA), will be held daily from 9am to noon, providing rural communities with the opportunity to undergo basic health screenings free of charge.

The public can obtain health advice from doctors, as well as undergo blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, lung function tests (Peak Flow) and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations.

There will also be a blood donation programme to encourage the community to help patients in need of blood supplies.

Spokesperson for the organiser, who is also the Director of the Nurturing Disciples, Retention and Reclamation (NDR) – Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle (IEL) Sabah Mission, Pastor Juri Rumondok (pic), said the approach of bringing health services directly to the community aims to make it easier for rural residents to receive early health check-ups.

According to him, the initiative can also increase public awareness of the importance of healthcare, especially in rural areas with limited access to medical facilities.
