LAHAD DATU: The Ministry of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy is intensifying efforts to strengthen sports development across the state.
Its Assistant Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Anil Sandhu said the ministry is working very hard to ensure our athletes receive attention and support.
He said preparations are currently being intensifies for the upcoming Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) and the ministry has established clear targets and committed in ensuring our athletes provided with necessary resources, guidance and opportunities to perform at their highest level.
“We are doing our best to give the best for Sabah athletes,” he said, when met after officiating the 2026 MK and Invitational Badminton Championships.
Praising the organisation of the championship, Anil said the championship will serve as platform to discover talents and providing them opportunities to develop their abilities.
Anil added that the championship also serve as a bridge to connect people and further strengthen unity among the people.
In the meantime, MK Badminton Club President, Kevin Sia said the championship is a platform to strengthen the community regardless of races, religions and background through sports.
