Tuaran: The State Government is continuing the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (Syukur) Programme this year with an allocation of RM339.16 million under its poverty eradication agenda.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the programme has been restructured to provide RM200 monthly assistance to complement Federal Government aid including Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara).

He said the restructuring has expanded the number of recipients from 100,000 last year to 140,000 this year, allowing more Sabahans to benefit from the assistance.
Hajiji said Syukur payments would be made in phases, with each payment amounting to RM600 covering a three-month period, while Phase 2 cash distribution would begin from June 18 to June 23 involving 17,848 recipients.
He said the assistance should be used wisely for essential needs, children’s education and to help ease the impact of increasing daily living expenses.
