KOTA BELUD: The body of a man who was swept away by strong currents while swimming with friends in a river near a guesthouse at Kampung Tambatuon on Saturday evening was found Sunday.
The body of Abner Lasmel, 24, from Kiulu, Tuaran, was discovered by the public at 7am about 1.2km from the location where he was last seen.
Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Elge Bakuk said it received information from villagers regarding the discovery of the victim’s body before a search and rescue (SAR) team rushed to the scene.
