Personal FB account hacked: Sabah Minister lodges police report
James also urged the public to ignore suspicious or dubious messages and to immediately report them to the authorities through official channels.
Kota Kinabalu: The personal Facebook account of State Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk James Ratib (pic) has been hacked by irresponsible parties.

Confirming the matter, he said a police report had been lodged for the relevant authorities to conduct a detailed investigation and take further action.

James stressed that he had never and would not ask any individual for sensitive information, including bank account numbers, telephone numbers, personal details, passwords, one-time passwords (OTPs) or financial assistance via social media.

“Any message, post, comment or communication that uses my name, picture or identity for such purposes is false and has not been authorised by me,” he said in a statement here Thursday.

According to him, any official information on his ministerial duties would only be issued through official channels confirmed by his office.

He also expressed appreciation for the cooperation and concern of all parties in helping to curb cybercrime and protect the public from becoming victims of fraud.
