KENINGAU: A motorcyclist was injured after skidding on an oil spill at Jalan Tamu Ground recently.
The 10.19am incident was caused by plastic bags containing oily waste that fell from a moving vehicle and ruptured, making the road dangerously slippery.
A five-man team led by Azwan Hamirin from the Keningau Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched following an emergency call.
The victim, who crashed after hitting the thick oil, was assisted by members of the public and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before the team arrived.
Firefighters used a water-and-foam spray to clean and neutralise the spill.
The operation, which included traffic assistance from the police, ended at 11.03am after the road was declared safe for road users.
