NABAWAN: Nabawan Assemblyman Datuk Abd Ghani Mohd. Yassin congratulated Totu Dyenelay Daud on being crowned 2026 State-Level Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan competition champion.
He said the success not only brings pride to the participant and their family, but also does Nabawan district proud at the State level.
He said the passion, talent and commitment shown in empowering traditional arts and culture is a highly commendable achievement that should serve as an example for the younger generation.
Abdul Ghani, who is also Chairman of Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB), expressed his appreciation to all participants for demonstrating a spirit of unity, an appreciation of cultural heritage and the identity of the Sabah community.
“May this success inspire the younger generation to continue preserving and dignifying our state’s culture and heritage,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dyenelay’s dad, Daud Anggau, expressed gratitude to the Nabawan RTK management and all parties involved in making the competition a success.
He said Dyenelay’s success due to collective effort and not merely individual achievement.
He said the accomplishment could not have been reached without the solid support of their family, the community, the competition management, and the supporters who stood firmly behind his child throughout the competition.
“May this spirit of unity endure and inspire the younger generation to look after our cultural heritage,” he said.
The runner-up and third-place spots for the 2026 State-Level Kaamatan RTK were claimed by Bryan Niccholson Jacob representing Keningau and Daniel Chrionie Taning representing Tamparuli, respectively.
Fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh places were held by Hassan Der Jaid (Kiulu), Kristern Olwen Jafili (Tuaran), Ian Steeve Dee Moses (Likas) and Hadwanielly Allan (Ranau).
