PUTRAJAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has detected RM3.5 billion in unreported income through enforcement actions and audit checks under the e-Invois system.
Following compliance reminders, 38,906 taxpayers voluntarily submitted tax returns, declaring RM3.5 billion in income and RM760.7 million in tax liabilities.
LHDN said taxpayers who have yet to submit returns will face further audit and enforcement action.
A nationwide e-Invois compliance operation from 20–24 April 2026 also identified 108 taxpayers failing to implement the system under Phase 1 and 2.
Since its introduction on 1 August 2024, the system has recorded 225,604 taxpayers issuing 1.299 billion e-Invoices, reflecting strong adoption of digital tax reporting.
