Decades-long land delays leave rural Sabahans struggling

Rural Sabahans are waiting up to 20 to 30 years for land titles, leaving them unable to secure loans, develop land or pass it on, Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup said.
The Sook Assemblyman said good policies are already in place but weak implementation is the main issue, urging faster processing, more surveyors and a facilitative approach to resolve land, road and basic infrastructure problems in rural areas.

He also called for urgent progress on key rural roads and 83 water projects worth RM4.06 billion, while warning that Sabah must prepare a backup plan as global economic risks could affect tourism, investment and small rural businesses.
