Navy sharpens combat edge with drill
KOTA KINABALU: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), through its Eastern Fleet Command, has concluded the Operational Sea Training Exercise East (OSTEX EAST) 1/26, held from April 7 to 16 as part of a field training exercise (FTX).

The exercise, officiated by Second Admiral Ivan Mario Andrew on behalf of the Eastern Fleet Commander, serves as a key preparatory phase for Exercise KERISMAS 29/26 scheduled from July 27 to August 14.

Conducted over 10 days in locations including the Kota Kinabalu Naval Base and the South China Sea, OSTEX EAST 1/26 involved six RMN vessels — KD Kelantan, KD Badik, KD Rencong, KD Serang, KD Baung and KD Yu — along with an AW139 helicopter, ScanEagle unmanned aerial system, and two Fast Combat Boats.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) supported the exercise with a CN-235 aircraft, an EC725 helicopter and two Hawk fighter jets.
