PAPAR: The State Ministry of Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing will engage directly with relevant agencies to ensure the most basic needs of elderly residents in Sabah’s care homes are met without further delay.
Its Minister Datuk Julita Majungki gave this assurance following a working visit to the Sri Pritchard Elderly Home in Kinarut, recently, where she acknowledged that persistent issues such as water supply require urgent attention.
“We will engage the relevant agencies on this and continue to monitor the situation to see how support can be strengthened,” she said, adding that the Ministry will continue to act as a facilitator between care homes and stakeholders Statewide.
The visit was held in conjunction with the Kong Xi Raya and Residents’ Birthday Celebration, an event organised by the home’s Board of Visitors led by its president, Datin Rachel Rayah Kumar.
