“This success shows that rural schools can achieve educational excellence when provided with focused guidance, continuous support and strong commitment to implementing education transformation agendas,” Aldam said.
Located 7km from Pekan Semporna, SK Bukit Lalang currently has 618 students, including 25 pre-schoolers, and employs 40 teachers and three support staff.
Aldam attributed the accomplishment to the sustained commitment of the entire school community.
“A work culture focused on data, continuous improvement and collaborative leadership practices have been the foundation of the school’s performance enhancement,” he said.
The school focuses on strengthening teaching and learning quality through systematic implementation of teacher action research, teaching and learning innovations and professional guidance.
The school management also prioritised human capital development by empowering teacher competencies, fostering middle leadership and creating a conducive and integrity-based work environment.
Active participation from parents and the local community, coupled with ongoing support from the District Education Office and State Education Department, served as key catalysts for the school’s success.
Aldam said SK Bukit Lalang is committed to maintaining this momentum of excellence and aspires to serve as a best practice model for other schools, in line with the Ministry of Education’s aspirations.
He conveyed his gratitude and appreciation for the recognition received.
