SINGAPORE: The Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Ministry (Mindet) will continue assisting Sabah companies and entrepreneurs to expand their products and services into the Singapore market, said its Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He said that as of December 2025, only 261 Sabah companies were registered with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) Singapore, out of a total 12,742 Malaysian enterprises.

In line with the Sabah First Vision, Ewon said enterprise scaling is a key focus of Mindet, beginning with strengthening production capacity, quality and compliance with product and service standards, including for start-ups targeting international markets such as Singapore.

He was speaking after a visit to Matrade Singapore and a bilateral discussion with its Director Siti Nordiana on the second day of his working visit, during which he noted that several Sabah-made products already in the Singapore market had received positive response.
