KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Shahelmey Yahya has been appointed as the new chairman of Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (SOGDC), with the company welcoming his ministerial-level leadership in steering its strategic direction.
The appointment was followed by an official visit and briefing session at SOGDC headquarters, where he was received by chief executive officer and managing director Mohd Azmir Ramli and the senior management team.

The visit marked an early engagement by the new chairman, reflecting his intent to understand the corporation’s operations, priorities and responsibilities.
During the briefing, Shahelmey underscored the need for strong governance, effective corporate performance monitoring and integrated management across SOGDC and its subsidiaries.
SOGDC said its management and staff have pledged full professional support for his leadership, expressing confidence that the new chairmanship will strengthen the corporation’s role as a strategic state entity contributing to Sabah’s socio-economic development.
