Ex-Sindumin representative Dr Yusof appointed  Sabah Development Berhad Chairman

Kota Kinabalu: Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob has been appointed as the new Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad (SDB), one of the State Government-linked companies (GLCs) under the Chief Minister’s Department and the State Ministry of Finance.

Yusof, who previously served as Qhazanah Sabah Berhad Chairman, replaces Datuk Poon Ming Fung as SDB Chairman.

The former Sindumin assemblyman began his duties at the SDB office, in Menara Kinabalu, Tuesday.

He was given a briefing on SDB’s operations and strategic direction, which was attended by several members of the Board of Directors as well as the company’s senior management.

During the briefing, Dr Yusof expressed appreciation to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for the trust placed in him.

He described the appointment as a trust and a major responsibility to ensure that SDB continues to grow as a successful state-owned development company.

At the initial stage, Yusof said he will focus on gaining a thorough understanding of SDB’s role and strategic direction, including its subsidiaries such as Jetama Sdn Bhd, so that they can play a more effective role in contributing to economic growth, development and the wellbeing of the people of Sabah.
