KOTA KINABALU: An 18-year-old college student was released on a bond of good behaviour by the Sessions Court after admitting to unlawful transactions totalling RM15,050 conducted through her personal bank account.
Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan made the order after taking into account the prosecution’s submissions, a welfare officer’s social report and the teenager’s plea for leniency.

The court held that the offence, committed on July 8, 2025, at an office in Taman Industri Warisan, appeared to stem from negligence rather than deliberate involvement in criminal activity or any syndicate.
In mitigation, the teenager told the court she came from a large family, her father is ill, her mother died last year and the case had forced her to discontinue her studies, while promising not to repeat the mistake.
The court heard that she had lent her ATM card and banking details to a man she knew for about a month, resulting in RM15,050 being transferred into her account as payment for a dubious supply offer, leading to her arrest despite the prosecution’s call for deterrence.
