Chambers committed to rapport

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah United Chinese chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) and The Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) are looking forward to continued collaboration and support under Sabah’s leadership as chamber officials paid their first courtesy call on Datuk Ben Chong, the Assistant Minister of Finance Sabah.

The delegation was led by SUCCC cum KKCCCI President Datuk Michael Lui, with KKCCCI Deputy President Datuk Chang Chin Shin, JP, Secretary General Yee That Hian, Treasurer General Kapitan Albert Kok, JP, Deputy Director Tobin Ng, Executive Secretary Imo Chong and Assistant Executive Secretary Adriana Yee.

“The SUCCC & KKCCCI remains committed to fostering a prosperous and stable commercial environment. We pay close attention to and understand the government’s initiatives in driving economic growth. 

“We also look forward to playing a more effective role as a bridge between the government and industry players, jointly seeking feasible solutions to advance Sabah’s economic development,” Lui said on Tuesday.

The meeting aimed to strengthen communication between the business community and government departments, with discussions covering current economic conditions, business development, and Sabah’s rights under federal policies.

During the meeting, Lui emphasised his belief that the State Government in implementing federal policies will prioritizes the interests and needs of Sabah particularly in matters related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), ensuring autonomy and developmental rights are protected.

He expressed gratitude to the State Government which had decided to allocate RM90 million in financial assistance to mission and independent schools, temples and non-Muslim religious bodies, in this year.

Meanwhile, Datuk Ben Chong had also agreed to become the VIP Guest for the seminar on “Malaysia Market Outlook 2026 Sharing & Networking Dinner” on Friday, 16 Jan at 4.30pm at Marriott Hotel organized by KKCCCI.
