Technical and Vocational Education and Training mini academy in Penampang plan

Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Employers of Foreign Workers Association (Pemaba) is responding to the Government’s call to venture into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to produce skilled workers in Sabah.

Pemaba President Yacob Gabriel Samson said this in response to the call by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to promote TVET as a field that would enhance opportunities for the people of this state to advance in their careers.

“We as employers want to help supply quality and skilled workers in various industries so that we can help to amplify the economy and society of Sabah,” he said when met by Daily Express recently.

In this regard, he said, Pemaba planned to establish a TVET Mini Academy in Penampang with a focus on upgrading the skills of target groups including women, youth, marginalised communities with a special emphasis on the B40 group.
