The male and female suspects were detained in two separate raids in Menggatal.
Initial investigations revealed the couple’s involvement in a house break-in and car theft at Taman Ujana Kingfisher, and they are also believed to be linked to three other house break-ins in Luyang and Menggatal.
Police seized various items believed to be stolen, including a vehicle, modified break-in tools, mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, a digital camera, handbags and other personal belongings.
Records checks showed both suspects have prior criminal histories, with one having an extensive record involving house break-ins, theft and drug-related offences.
“Urine screening found one suspect positive for drugs, while the other tested negative. Both suspects have been remanded and are being investigated under Sections 457 and 379A of the Penal Code, with further investigations ongoing,” Kasim said.
He urged the public to continue cooperating by providing information to help maintain public safety.
