KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is now focused on implementing the High Court ruling on its 40 per cent revenue entitlement, with Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun saying a federal appeal is not an issue after the state formally requested that none be filed.
He said the request was personally conveyed to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ahead of the state election.

Masidi said Sabah’s development constraints are due to limited fiscal capacity, not lack of political will, as the state struggles to meet major needs in water, electricity and infrastructure.
He said spending is being prioritised for essential services, with federal electricity subsidies remaining crucial at RM700 million this year and an estimated RM880 million in 2026.
