KOTA KINABALU: Putatan Umno chief Jeffery Nor Mohamed has proposed appointing an independent auditor, approved by both federal and state governments, to accurately determine Sabah’s 40pc revenue claim.

He said the move, previously suggested by the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, would provide a clear and fair calculation method and form the basis for a permanent framework or new agreement to settle the issue.

Jeffery stressed that Sabahans must be given a simple explanation of the findings, noting that the High Court had ruled on Oct 17 that the Federal Government is obliged to review and reimburse the claim under the Federal Constitution.
