Kota Kinabalu: Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd (CIS) contributed RM1 million to the Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS).
The contribution was handed over by CIS Chairman Datuk Japlin Akim to TPNS Co-Chairman Dato’ Sri Ghulamhaidar Khan Bahadar, witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, in a brief ceremony at the Chief Minister’s office in the State Legislative Assembly building, Monday.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif in his capacity as TPNS Chairman and CIS General Manager Sumardi Mohd Yusof.
Sumardi said the contribution reflects CIS’ commitment as a State Government-Linked Company (GLC) to support the State Government’s key initiative of equipping Sabah children with higher education, while strengthening Sabah’s human capital, in line with the vision of nurturing knowledgeable and outstanding individuals.
