KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah-born homemaker Ayesha Assilla Watuna sold her personal collection of rare and limited-edition Pokémon cards to raise funds to join the Global Sumud Flotilla’s humanitarian mission to Gaza next year.
The 30-year-old mother of three has sold more than 3,000 cards, raising over RM15,000 so far and pledging 100 per cent of the proceeds to the mission.

She began selling online and at a night market in Taman Melawati in late October.
Ayesha said she was inspired by other Malaysian women making sacrifices for Palestine and hopes her actions will one day be a meaningful story for her children.
Some cards in her collection are valued at several thousand ringgit, with prices tracked through a collectors’ app.
She added that while card collecting began as a hobby and stress reliever, she is prepared to part with every card, including rare Japan-only editions, to support the cause.
