Kota Kinabalu: The 6th Council (2025–2028) of the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah has announced the reappointment of two distinguished business leaders — Datuk Clement Yeh, JP, and Datuk Dr. Tan Kai Teck — as Honorary Advisors, in recognition of their long-standing contributions and unwavering support toward the Chamber’s growth and development.
Both advisors are highly respected figures in Sabah’s business community, possessing extensive experience and deep insight in corporate management and community service.
MCCC Sabah President Datuk Dexter Lau stated that this reappointment reflects the Chamber’s deep appreciation for the long-term dedication and exemplary service of senior entrepreneurs, as well as the Chamber’s commitment to preserving the spirit of leadership continuity.
“Our Honorary Advisors form the Chamber’s core think tank. Their vision and wisdom have allowed us to maintain a balance between stability and innovation. They have witnessed the Chamber’s evolution from its early foundation to its current strength and have consistently guided us in strategic planning, policy engagement, and regional cooperation.”
He added that both advisors have inspired the younger generation through their humility and pragmatic leadership, serving as role models for council members and emerging entrepreneurs alike.
“Their wisdom and generosity remind us that leadership is not merely about direction but about responsibility and legacy. We firmly believe that with their continued guidance and presence, the Chamber will move forward with greater unity and influence over the next three years — strengthening business ties between Sabah and the Chinese market.”
Deputy President Kapitan Dr. Callee Tan Kai Lee, who personally presented the letters of appointment on behalf of the Council, expressed gratitude for the advisors’ invaluable insights and contributions at different stages of the Chamber’s development. She emphasized that the Chamber’s steady progress is built upon the long-term trust and support of these guiding figures.
“Advisors are the bridges that connect past experience with future vision. Their presence not only provides the Chamber with clarity and direction but also enables our team to meet new challenges with inherited wisdom and innovative thinking.”
She added that the 6th Council will continue to strengthen the advisory structure and expand professional participation to ensure that the Chamber maintains an open and strategic outlook in policy advocacy, business networking, investment facilitation, and international engagement.
“Our goal is to build a forward-looking platform where the Advisory Board and the Council move hand in hand— enabling Sabah’s business community to play an even more significant role in the regional economy.”
