KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General’s Chambers has withdrawn all seven criminal breach of trust (CBT) charges against National Professors Council (MPN) President Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Raduan Che Rose, clearing his name after months of scrutiny.
Raduan described the decision as a “relief” and proof that “due process of law has been carried out with diligence and fairness.”
He maintained the allegations were “irrational and lodged prematurely,” noting that a forensic audit later confirmed no evidence of misappropriation.
“From the start I stressed the accusations were baseless. Official records show I never misused institutional funds.
"In fact, I sacrificed my own savings and overdraft facilities amounting to RM381,000 to cover staff salaries, rent and utilities when MPN faced a post-Covid financial crisis. Without this, operations might have ceased,” he said.
His solicitors, A.M. Zaharil & Co, welcomed the Attorney General’s decision, calling it a demonstration of the chambers’ commitment to justice based on facts and credible evidence.
They added that the allegations stemmed from legitimate managerial decisions, stressing that such decisions "should not be criminalised.”
Raduan acknowledged that the case had caused “serious reputational damage” to him and MPN, and urged those responsible to correct the matter and issue a public apology.
“I remain fully committed to serving the nation through MPN and other platforms to strengthen governance, integrity and credibility within our justice system. Above all, the truth has finally prevailed,” he said.
