Thai Bazaar and Cultural Week draws big crowds in Brunei

BRUNEI: The 9th Thailand Bazaar and Cultural Week, held from Aug 28-31, 2025 at the Atrium of Onecity Shopping Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan, concluded on a high note with strong public turnout and enthusiastic participation.

Organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, in collaboration with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Kuala Lumpur Office, the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand Kuala Lumpur Office, the event celebrated the richness of Thai culture, cuisine, and lifestyle.

In a statement, the Royal Thai Embassy said Ambassador Miss Boosara Kanchanalai welcomed Lim Han Chiong, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as the Guest of Honour who officiated the opening ceremony.

The bazaar featured 60 booths, comprising vendors from Thailand and authorised local distributors, offering a wide variety of Thai delicacies, beverages, fashion items, jewellery, handbags, handicrafts and home goods.

Cultural highlights included Muay Thai demonstrations, attracting martial arts fans and curious onlookers alike as well as a free screening of the hit 2018 Thai romantic comedy “Brother of the Year”, which grossed USD7.8 million and topped box offices across Asia. The screening at One Cineplex drew large, enthusiastic audiences.

The Royal Thai Embassy expressed heartfelt gratitude to the public for their strong support, saying the turnout reflects the growing popularity of Thai culture and products in Brunei.
