Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Law Society (SLS) on Friday condemned the propriety and manner of investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) when it publicly announced the investigation of a Superior Court Judge.SLS President Roger Chin said the undue and unwarranted manner in which the MACC publicly announced the investigation and named the judge, had the effect of undermining public confidence in the judiciary and was clearly an attack on the independence of the judiciary.
“The MACC disclosed the name of the judge to the public for an indefinite period and without any proper decision or closure, which is tantamount to an act of intimidation against the judiciary.
