Warisan dismisses DAP’s allegations
Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Sabah has dismissed Sabah DAP’s allegations of it being pro-Barisan Nasional as recycled allegations.

Its Kota Kinabalu Secretary James Yim  (pic) said  DAP made the same allegations in 2017.

He said this in response to Kota Kinabalu DAPSY Chief Chan Loong Wei who questioned Warisan’s motives in harping on the MoU that the party signed with Perikatan Nasional and the fact that it only contested in Pakatan Harapan seats in the recent Johor State election that enabled BN to win

“Perhaps Chan is unaware that Chan Foong Hin, then a Sri Tanjong Assemblyman, made a similar accusation in a Chinese newspaper in September 2017,” he said.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
“Chan claimed that Warisan is pro-BN and that Pakatan Harapan is the sole option for people seeking a government change.

“Sabahans did not believe Chan Foong Hin’s allegations. Instead, the people rallied around Warisan, and we were able to beat BN in 2018,” James said.

He said DAP must keep in mind that Pakatan Rakyat (dominant partner in Pakatan Harapan) lost in 2008 and 2013. However, after Warisan’s emergence in 2018, BN was finally toppled.

“Warisan did not rely on DAP. It was DAP who relied on Warisan,” he said.

The Sabah DAP’s repetitive allegation, according to James, could be indication that the party is under a lot of pressure to stay relevant in Sabah.

“After five years, DAP is forced to recycle five-year-old garbage in order to deceive Sabahans. Is it because DAP has realised it has lost its relevance in Sabah?

“A growing number of people are aware that the DAP can only run in Chinese-majority areas because it is a Chinese party. So, at best, the DAP will gain a few seats while remaining the Opposition.

“This is due to DAP’s inability to obtain support from other communities. These are facts. “However, Warisan is not the same as DAP. Warisan has the support of the entire community. “Warisan is eligible to compete in Bajau, Chinese, and Dusun areas, as well as rural and urban locations. Warisan is also capable of forming a government at any time,” he said. He opined that DAP may be becoming concerned that a growing number of Sabahans are sceptical of West Malaysian parties such as DAP and PH?

Perhaps DAP is feeling the heat, which is why it is repurposing old garbage that has already been proven to be untrue.

“DAP must cease thinking of Sabahans as fools because Sabahans, particularly the Chinese, are no longer so gullible,” he said.
