TAWAU: Five undocumented Indonesians, aged between 10 and 40, were detained by  the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) during Op Cegah Pati (OCP) Daratan, here, Sunday.

Esscom Commander Datuk Ahmad Fuad Othman said all five were caught at the Jambatan 2, Kg Kurnia Jaya Batu 4, here, at 7.55pm and were believed to have just arrived from a neighbouring country via rat trails.

A patrol team spotted five people, comprising a man, two women and two boys, behaving in a suspicious manner in the area.
All those detained were brought to the Tawau police headquarters for further action. The case is being probed under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Amended 2002).

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the two projects together would add 28MWac of new power generation capacity, helping to stabilise electricity supply in Sabah.
He said Esscom will continuously conduct round-the-clock security operations in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) both on land and at sea to prevent cross-border crimes, including entry of illegal immigrants and kidnappings.
