Kota Kinabalu: Commercial establishments like banks, hotels, gas stations, etc, are responsible for ensuring that their users/customers are protected against the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.Any premise or facility that serves the public are directed to sanitise their ATM machines, Hotel Elevators, Noozle Buttons and such on an ongoing basis to ensure Covid-19 virus infection is completely contained.
These were among several restriction directives (effective March 23, 2020) enacted by the State Government meeting of the Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre, according to a statement released by the State Secretary as chairman of the Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre, Monday.
The State Government has also decided to block all travel from Sebatik Island-Tawau-Sebatik Island ,Serundong-Simanggaris-Serundong, Bantul Labang- Pagalungan-Bantul Labang.
The use of jetty by Sabah Port and Wharf Department (JPDS) and Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) is allowed for the purpose of shipping essential goods where the number of boats and crew are to be at a minimum.
The State Government has also decided to gazette three new locations as the Covid-19 Temporary Quarantine Centre at Masjid Jamek, Kota Belud; Plasma MPOB, Lahad Datu and Felda Resident Sahabat, Lahad Datu to ensure that the existing Quarantine Center can meet the needs and avoid congestion.
The State Government have also decided to limit domestic flights to the following destinations: Kota Kinabalu- Tawau-Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan-Kota Kinabalu, Kota Kinabalu-Lahad Datu-Kota Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan-Tawau-Kota Kinabalu.
The State Government has also determined that all passengers are required to undergo Covid-19 health screening by the Ministry of Health Malaysia at the airport.
The State Government also clarified that any student or civilian returning from abroad to the Sabah during the duration of the Movement Control Order whether they have undergone a Covid-19 health screening or not at airports nationwide would be quarantined for 14 days at the Quarantine Center provided.
