The two-day symposium will be held at the Sabah Craft Centre Hall in Keningau and will feature scientific oral presentations, poster presentations, hands-on workshops, and expert lecture series covering multiple current dental disciplines.
The programme is jointly organised by the Keningau Area Dental Health Office, the Sabah State Health Department’s Oral Health Division, and the Sabah Dental Welfare, Sports and Recreation Club (BUTIZA).
“The organisation of this symposium aims to strengthen the culture of scientific presentation and evidence-based practice among dental personnel,” Dr Mohd Khairul added.
Key highlights include workshops in endodontics, aesthetic restorative dentistry, and clinical dental photography, as well as lectures on sleep apnea, active ageing, clinical audit, virtual maxillofacial surgery, and digital dentistry.
The programme targets participation from dental specialists, dental officers, dental nurses, and dental technologists throughout Sabah to expand scientific communication competencies and build confidence in professional presentations.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be officiated by Sabah State Health Director Dr William Gotulis, accompanied by Deputy State Health Director (Dental) Dr Thaddius Herman Maling.
