PAPAR: A striking mural inspired by the iconic Abbey Road album cover by legendary British rock band The Beatles is drawing attention here after being featured in a Facebook post.
The artwork, created by Ashoka Community Art Space, is located along Jalan Abbie and recreates the famous image of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr crossing a road, a nod to the band's classic 1969 album.
According to the post, the mural was painted by local artist William Chin and Singapore-based muralist Thaddeus Ong, who collaborated on the project and completed it over three days using their own funds.
Updates on the mural's progress were shared on social media throughout the painting process, allowing the public to follow its transformation from initial sketches to the finished artwork.
The project has been welcomed as a creative addition to Papar's townscape, showcasing how public art can enliven public spaces while contributing to the district's cultural and tourism appeal.
