86 undocumented migrants arrested in KK operation

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 86 undocumented migrants were arrested during an Immigration Department enforcement operation carried out at several locations around the city on June 10.

Sabah Immigration Department said the operation was conducted following public complaints and involved 24 officers from its Enforcement Division.

The department said 125 individuals were inspected, with those detained comprising Philippine and Indonesian nationals who failed to produce valid travel documents or passes.

The detainees are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.
