TAMBUNAN: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Tambunan has strengthened its grassroots presence following the entry of about 500 members from Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Sabah from Mukim Monsolurung and Mukim Lintuhun, here.

Its Divisional Chief Dato’ Victor P, Paut said the mass enrolment was announced during a “3-in-1 PGRS Tambunan” programme held at Taman Rekreasi Kintup here on Friday.

He described such development as a clear indication of growing public support for political stability and continued development in the district.

He said the move reflected the aspirations of grassroots communities seeking a stronger and more united platform to advance the interests of Tambunan.

“This is a wave of awakening among the people who want a better future. It reflects a clear choice by the grassroots for stability and continuous progress,” he said.

Victor who is also Deputy Chairman of Sawit Kinabalu and Borneo Samudera, also urged party members and supporters to move beyond divisive politics and focus on building unity for the benefit of future generations.

He stressed that Tambunan’s progress could not be achieved by any single individual but through collective effort and cooperation among the people.

“From today onwards, we no longer look at where our new members come from, nor whether they were once friends or political opponents. We are now one family, one team and one struggle,” he said.

Meanwhile, certificates of appointment were presented to several Gagasan Rakyat members who had recently been appointed to positions within the state administration and government-linked companies (GLCs).

Victor reminded the appointees that their positions should be viewed as a trust and responsibility rather than a privilege, urging them to remain close to the people and attentive to their needs.

He expressed confidence that Tambunan could emerge as one of Sabah’s most developed, harmonious and successful districts through unity and collective effort.

At the event, former Star Tikolod branch youth chief Jaibi Joseph formally handed over membership application forms to the PGRS Tambunan division leadership, symbolising the entry of the new members into the party.
