TAMBUNAN: Nearly 500 members from Sabah Star’s Monsorulung and Lintuhun mukims have joined Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Tambunan, signalling a shift in local political support.

The group submitted their membership forms to division chief Datuk Victor Peter Paut at an event in Kampung Tikolod on Saturday.

Former Star youth leader Jaibie Joseph said the move reflects confidence in more stable and forward-looking leadership, while Lintuhun representative Jackly Jamari cited growing support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Gagasan Rakyat.

Victor said the GRS government has proven its ability to deliver development, stability and prosperity over the past five years, highlighting initiatives in infrastructure, youth development, business funding and education.

He added that Tambunan must accelerate progress, particularly in tourism, agriculture and the creative sector, stressing that unity is key to achieving sustained development.
