District Police Chief, Supt. Mursalin Mahmud, confirmed that the raid was the result of meticulous intelligence gathering and a well-coordinated effort between the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN) and the Internal Security and Public Order Division (KDNKA).

The police team, acting on credible information regarding illegal sales activities, descended upon a location at the rear of an unmarked house in Kampung Kinapulidan.
During the search of the premises, police discovered a white polystyrene container that had been strategically placed to conceal the illegal inventory. Inside were eight 1.5-liter mineral bottles, each filled with liquid ketum ready for distribution.
Further inspection yielded two large plastic bundles containing powdered ketum, which represents a more concentrated form of the substance.
One of the bundles contained 14 individual packets, while the other held 23 packets, with each weighing precisely 1kg.
The total estimated market value of the seized liquid and powdered ketum was approximately RM3,940.
The case is being investigated under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952, a legal provision that specifically addresses the unauthorized possession and distribution of psychotropic substances.
Supt. Mursalin reiterates the police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating all forms of illegal substance activities in the district.
He encouraged anyone who notices suspicious activities or has knowledge of illegal operations to contact the police immediately.
