Kota Kinabalu: Former Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) Chairman Winston Liaw Kit Siong questioned the practice of docking arriving aircraft at bays located furthest from the immigration entrance while nearer bays are left empty at Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
“The long walking distance creates inconvenience, especially for elderly passengers and people with disabilities,” he said.
He also suggested that the airport resume the service of Mandarin and English-speaking tourist assistants at immigration counters to assist visitors facing communication or documentation issues.
“Whenever passengers encounter problems at immigration, these assistants can help to facilitate communication and ease congestion at the counters,” he said.
