UPPM plays important role as a bridge: Masidi

Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) plays an important role as a bridge between the Government and the people in ensuring policies and development programmes are effectively delivered.

Masidi, who is also State Finance Minister, reminded newly appointed staff to carry out their duties with integrity and to always prioritise the interests of the people.

“The appointed staff must ensure that all government policies and initiatives are effectively communicated to the rakyat,” he said during the presentation of appointment letters to UPPM Karanaan Ranau personnel at his office.

Among those appointed were Community Development Officer (CDO) Mohd Syukri Saridih and Community Development Supervisor Georgie Tham Soon Kong.

Meanwhile, the positions of Mukim Development Officers were filled by Mohd Radzi Shah Junaidi, Adlyzan Jasirin, Jardern J. Saliun, Jorius Aban, Jasni Harun and Rudolf Bidi.

Appointed to the positions of Community Development Officers were Sitimeh Jimin, Nurul Syakirah Shahira and Mohd Amirul Junaidi.

Also present was Karanaan Community Development Leader (PPM) Suhaimi Manjun.

Masidi, who is also Karanaan Assemblyman, advised all staff to maintain the spirit of cooperation and unity in carrying out their responsibilities to ensure development in the district, particularly within the constituency, continues to be strengthened.

He also reminded UPPM personnel to always be punctual and disciplined in performing their duties to avoid delays and ensure services to the people are delivered more efficiently and effectively.

“The State Government remains committed to continuing the development agenda for the wellbeing of the people and calls on all parties to play their respective roles to ensure every development effort can be implemented smoothly and benefit the community,” he said.
