BEAUFORT: A man was arrested in an operation due to his involvement with drugs believed to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 0.20gm.
Beaufort District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh said the operation was carried out on Tuesday, when a police team from the Beaufort District Police Headquarters (IPD Beaufort), together with the Station Chief and personnel from the Weston Police Station, made the arrest under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“PDRM stresses that it will not compromise with any drug abuse and trafficking activities, and enforcement efforts will continue to be intensified through ongoing operations to detect, track down, and arrest individuals involved,” he said.
He added that operations are specifically targeted at areas identified as hotspots.
