Kota Kinabalu: Sabah is moving closer to hosting a Singapore Consulate in Kota Kinabalu, with preparations for its establishment currently progressing smoothly, according to the Sabah Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Its Director Clara Soon May Lynn said the development reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen foreign diplomatic presence in the State.
She also said discussions have been held on the proposed establishment of an Indian Consulate in Sabah, although the process remains at an early stage following its recent announcement and requires further refinement.
She said this after paying a courtesy call on Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu, Tuesday.
