SOOK: Single-use plastic concept was introduced here recently by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES). It was in conjunction with the pre-launch of the Healthy Earth Initiative with the theme “Smart Plastic, Safe Earth”, to make green practices a daily culture at home and public areas.

Minister Dato’ Sri Arthur Joseph Kurup, when launching the programme at Tamu Market in Sook said this campaign supports the national agenda of “no more single-use plastic bags” starting January 1 this year in phases.
