LABUAN: A two-storey semi-permanent shop was destroyed in a fire in Kampung Lajau on Saturday, while civil defence personnel also responded to incidents involving a fallen tree and a monitor lizard on the same day.

No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation.

Separately, the Civil Defence Force responded to three incidents throughout the day. At 10.39am, personnel cleared a fallen tree blocking a car park in Kampung Sungai Pagar. At 3.01pm, they captured a monitor lizard that had entered a shop at D’One Mart, Peladang, and released it back to its natural habitat.
