Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun stressed the importance of strong institutional responsibility in building sound management and planning foundations to ensure development initiatives are implemented effectively, sustainably and with long-term benefits for Sabah.
He said this during a courtesy call by Sabah Development Berhad (SDB), led by Datuk Dr Yusuf Yacob and senior management, on Tuesday.

Masidi said SDB plays an important role in supporting the State Government through projects that generate economic impact, stimulate local economic activity and create job opportunities, particularly for Sabahans.
The discussion also touched on SDB’s strategic direction and potential areas of collaboration, including investment, property development and strategic economic initiatives aligned with the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 agenda.
SDB reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out its responsibilities with integrity and professionalism while strengthening its role as a catalyst for economic development in line with the State’s development direction.
The courtesy call was also described as a platform to strengthen cooperation between the State Government and the company.

On the same day, Masidi also received a courtesy call from Koperasi Kakitangan Kerajaan Negeri Sabah Berhad (KOPEKS) chairman Datuk Dr Haji Saat Haji Ag Damit, chief executive officer Buvil Angkui and their delegation.
During the meeting, Masidi offered strategic suggestions to help the cooperative strengthen income generation and improve operational effectiveness.
He urged KOPEKS to continue leveraging existing business opportunities and to innovate in its economic activities to safeguard members’ welfare and contribute to Sabah’s economic development.
