tabayyun, or verification, by referring to full and credible sources rather than drawing conclusions from headlines alone.
In a media statement, he thanked the public for their interest in his recent written parliamentary reply on factors related to involvement in LGBT-related issues.

He also invited Members of Parliament and the public to examine his complete written reply dated Jan 26 via the
Parliament website for proper and comprehensive context.
Zulkifli stressed the importance of obtaining accurate information from credible sources to avoid misinterpretation of the issues discussed.
He also reaffirmed that the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) rejects the normalisation of LGBT, which he said is contrary to religious, moral and societal values.
Previously, Zulkifli was reported to have mentioned in a written parliamentary reply that work-related stress may be among the factors linked to involvement in the LGBT community, citing a 2017 study.
He said the study identified social influence, sexual experiences and personal factors as contributors, but added that the government does not have official statistics on the size of the LGBT population in Malaysia.
