Continued government-industry collaboration important: Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: Continued collaboration between the State Government and energy industry players is vital to sustaining economic growth, job creation and long-term benefits for the people, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

Masidi, who is also State Finance Minister, said this during a courtesy call by a delegation from US-based multinational energy company ConocoPhillips at his office here on Monday.

The delegation was led by ConocoPhillips Malaysia President Connor Dunn, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, current developments and potential strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector, particularly involving the company’s operations and investments in Sabah.

During the meeting, Masidi was briefed on ConocoPhillips’ direction and plans, including operational safety, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability and its commitment to advancing sustainable energy industry development.
