KOTA BELUD: The RM21.476 million Taginambur–Kamburaon Kadamaian road upgrading project, which will benefit thousands of residents, was officially launched on Monday by Deputy Chief Minister and Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.
Ewon, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman, said the project covers the resurfacing of 2.55 kilometres of road and the construction of a two-way concrete bridge, with completion targeted for November 2027.
He said the improved road would ease daily travel for villagers, especially parents sending children to SMK Narinang and SK Taginambur, while also improving access for tourists and supporting village-based economic activities.
Ewon added that paved road infrastructure remains a priority in Kadamaian, with other upgrading works ongoing at Jalan Sayap, Jalan Tengkurus and Jalan Podos, alongside the construction of the Kaung and Malangkap concrete bridges.
He also thanked the Federal Government through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and Sabah Public Works Department, while villagers described the project as long-awaited relief from poor road conditions that had made school travel and farm transport difficult.
