KOTA KINABALU: A 20-year-old man reported missing while jogging at Taman Tun Fuad Stephens was found safe in Tuaran on Sunday, bringing relief to his family after hours of searching.

Firefighters from Lintas station launched a search-and-rescue (SAR) operation at midday after the victim’s uncle alerted authorities that the young man had failed to return to the family’s meeting spot at the park during an outing the previous evening.

The family, assisted by members of the public and staff from the City Hall (DBKK), had earlier searched the park without success after the man was last seen heading alone onto the jogging trail.

The operation was split into two teams covering different routes and supported by a K9 unit, as police reports indicated the man had been experiencing sleep difficulties.
