KINABATANGAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) says its campaign in Kinabatangan and Lamag will take a people-centric and fact-based approach, anchored by candidates it describes as credible, young and ready to serve.
Sabah BN chairman Datuk Jafry Arifin said Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar has been named the party’s candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, while Mohd Ismail Ayob will contest the Lamag state seat.
He said BN, as part of the Sabah unity government, remains committed to political stability, steady development and the wellbeing of local communities.
According to Jafry, the candidates were selected through careful consideration of leadership qualities, grassroots acceptance and their capacity to serve consistently, and he spoke to reporters after accompanying them at nomination proceedings at Dewan Sri Lamag on Saturday.
He added that throughout the 14-day campaign period, BN will prioritise direct engagement with voters, active listening and clear explanations of development plans, describing Naim as bringing youthful energy attuned to public aspirations and Ismail as an experienced figure familiar with Lamag’s needs.
