Kota Kinabalu: Two Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leaders have called for an end to further politicking now that the Sabah elections is over and that it is time to focus on meeting the people’s needs.
Deputy Chief Minister-cum-State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said it is time to stop talking about this party or that party and to start working together.

The GRS Sec-Gen said all parties should work together for the benefit of the people over the next five years.
Masidi, who retained his Karanaan seat in the Nov 29 Sabah election, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the people of Ranau for their support and trust in allowing him to represent them in the constituency.
“Let us wait five years before talking about parties again. Today is the time for the people of Ranau to prove that we can be the best in Sabah,” he said.
State Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Datuk Jamawi Jaafar, said it is time to work for the people as the political season is over.
The Melalap Assemblyman said his priority is to uplift the dignity and well-being of farmers, smallholders and fishermen, most of whom belong to the B40 group.
“There is no longer any issue of who supported whom or who voted for whom. Now is the time to work to help the people as a whole,” said Jamawi.
He welcomed the presence of Minister of Rural Development, who is also Kemabong Assemblyman, Datuk Rubin Balang, as well as Tenom Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), Riduan Rubin.
“There are many more programmes, especially in interior areas, in Tenom and Kemabong. We will move in parallel so that we can strive to do our best for our constituencies and likewise for our state.
“Today we celebrate Christmas together regardless of religious background and ethnicity. I will provide the best service and voice all the needs of the Melalap constituency in the State Assembly,” he said when officiating the Melalap DUN Christmas Open House 2025 at Dewan Datuk Sanggau Jalang on Sunday.
“I want to open up as many opportunities as possible for our villagers to be involved in agricultural activities within their own homes at a low cost. God willing, we will launch this early next year.
“I see many areas where we will try to assist our people by bringing in more allocations and driving greater progress in agriculture, economic opportunities for young people, and addressing the needs of agricultural roads,” he said.
