PENAMPANG: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has reaffirmed the importance of its Youth and Women Wings in developing future leaders and strengthening the party’s grassroots, said Vice President Datuk Hendrus Anding.
Speaking at the opening of the 40th PBS Youth and Women Annual Delegates Conference at Hongkod Koisaan Hall, Hendrus said leadership grooming must begin early at branch and division levels through structured planning, mentoring and exposure.

PBS Youth Chief Datuk Dr Christopher Mandut called for greater recognition of young leaders through appointments in government agencies and key roles, as well as improved support such as extending the RM600 travel incentive for Sabah students in Peninsular Malaysia.
Meanwhile, PBS Women Chief Datin Malianah Ugau, represented by her deputy Mariana Majinau, urged women to remain active in politics and community development, citing state initiatives that support skills development and leadership opportunities.
Hendrus said equipping Youth and Women members with professional and technological skills is vital to face modern political challenges, adding that strong successors are essential to keep PBS relevant and responsive to the aspirations of Sabahans.
